Levi's Westfield Albany: retail electrical fit-out

The brief

Livewire Electrical Ltd was appointed by FSL Construction & Interiors (Fit-Out Solutions) to undertake the electrical fit-out and installation of power, lighting and data for the Levi's retail store at Westfield Albany. The scope covered pre-wire installation, fit-off working to a specific detailed lighting design, custom LED strip lighting from 1.5m to 6m in length with extensive control cabling, bespoke lighting track, and power points and data.

The challenges

• Tight deadlines for store handover.
• An extremely busy site with multiple contractors working at the same time.
• Westfield mall restrictions on subcontractor deliveries, noise restrictions requiring after-hours work, and store access limits.

How we handled it

Regular communication with the project manager confirmed progress, the timing of other subcontractors, and any changes or additions to scope. Night works were planned ahead to complete critical lighting installations when other trades were off site, and noisy work was done outside mall operating hours.

The outcome

All works were delivered on time and within budget, inside the mall's operating restrictions, with the project manager kept updated throughout. The team was led by Kent Griffin with the electrical installation managed by Jarred Senekal, supported by Livewire electricians and an apprentice.
