Electrical Fit-Out and Installation including power, lighting, and data for the retail store.

Objectives

Livewire Electrical Ltd was appointed by FSL Construction & Interiors (Fit-Out Solutions) to undertake electrical fit-out and installation of power, lighting and data for the Levi’s retail store at Westfield Albany.

This involved the following scope of works:

  • Pre-wire installation
  • Fit off installation working to specific detailed design for lighting
  • Custom Light Emitting Diode (LED) strip lighting ranging from 1.5m -6m length including extensive control cabling
  • Bespoke lighting track
  • Power points and data
Case Study

The team undertaking this work was led by Kent Griffin with the electrical installation managed by Jarred Senekal, and supported by Livewire Electricians and an apprentice. Livewire strives for excellence in customer service and high quality electrical installations.

Challenges

During the course of the works we encountered the following challenges:

  • Working to tight deadlines for store handover
  • Delivering the electrical installation whilst working on an extremely busy site with multiple contractors working at the same time
  • Adhering to Westfield mall restrictions around subcontractor deliveries, noise restrictions requiring after hours works, and store access restrictions.

We overcame these challenges by:

  • Regular communication and updates with the project manager confirming progress, timing of other subcontractors and any changes or additions to the scope of work.
  • Planning ahead for night works to complete critical lighting installations when other subcontractors were not on site.
  • Conducting noisy works outside of mall operating hours.
Outcomes & Innovations
  • Our team worked closely with the Project Manager to ensure the successful delivery of electrical works, on budget and on time.
  • All works were undertaken within the mall operating restrictions to comply with the main contractors requirements.
